Whitley, you so cold, girl!

We all know Jasmine Guy, right? If not, maybe you remember Whitley from A Different World. She was also on Dead Like Me. And this is why I think she’s been in my dreams lately.

Dead Like Me is on Netflix’s Wii thingy majiggy… and because I hate most tv now, I watch reruns on Netflix. I’ve been watching Dead Like Me the past couple of nights and have fallen asleep half way through some episodes.

Last night, Whitley was in my dream.

I was at work, manning the front of the store. Not knowing what to do, since it is very weird for me to be there. I was straightening product, greeting customers, things I know we’re supposed to do on the sales floor.

I looked out into the mall, and saw lots of people crowding around someone and thought, oh great, another rapper is in the mall… wonder who it is this time. Who ever it was, it was driving business out. I was kind of pissed, but relieved. I’m very awkward when I feel I have to force people to buy.

So the mob dies down. But still, no one is coming into my store… fine, whatever, don’t really care.

Then someone touches me… and I get really cold. It’s Jasmine Guy!

She says, “Hey, I’m looking for something that smells good, as long as it doesn’t make me smell like food. Help me out, okay?”
No problemo, I’ll be glad too.

So, I’m showing her stuff … spray some perfume on her hand, and she’s loving everything I suggest. We talk for awhile and she says, “You know, everyone’s all freaking out because I’m here. And you’re being really casual, I like that.”
I’m not really starstruck. I mean, I am, but at the same time I’m not. Maybe because you’re not the first celebrity to come here.
“Maybe that’s it”

I helped her pick out her top favorite scents, and some other stuff. And she gets in line to pay. I go back to whatever I was doing, and she comes back. She tapped me on the shoulder, and I got really cold again. “I forgot I also need to get a gift for someone, and I think the person would like some of the same things I got for me”. I get her the same exact things… I accidently bumped her arm, and I got super cold again. I thought: it must be the stores’ cooling system again.

I went back to whatever I was doing, and then started helping another customer.

Jasmine Guy was on her way out when she came back and moved my hair so she could see my name… I got super cold again. She said to me, “Thanks Lily, for your help…. If you’re chilly, Here take my sweater, Your head is aching, I’ll make it better…”

At that point, I feel my arm slapping down the snooze button on my alarm clock.

Why the hell was I so cold? I forgot to cover myself with a blanket.
