Last week, I went to a concert with my little sister. Okay, so let’s just get to the point - I went to go see Patrick Stump. I didn’t really want to at first. I mean, how many people like going to concerts with someone ten years younger than them? AND, I didn’t think that Patrick Stump was gonna be that great. At first, I thought it was going to be me babysitting her and our cousin. But it actually turned out to be an okay night.
This was on the cusp of having a horrible week. For some reason, I was just pissed off 24/7, and everything just kept pissing me off more. I thought that the concert was just going to add to it. Maybe it had to do with staying late all week at work and not eating pretty much all week. And sleeping very little. I’m sure that’s why I was Miss Cranky Pants.
My sister stood in line all day because she didn’t have school. I swear, Chicago Public School students NEVER have school in November. That week they had two days off. Last week, 2 days off…. THIS week 2 days off. Next month they only have school for like 2 weeks.
I finally had a full meal once I got there. It only took all week for me to eat something.
I also found two new acts that I really really like. Like so much that I “Like” them on Facebook… and you know that’s like SUPER LEGIT.
So, right during the second act, these really obnoxious people kind of body slammed their way to where I was standing with my sister and cousin. Well, just one of them was obnoxious. Once the second act was finished, the obnoxious person kept trying to pick a fight with a group of guys that were standing behind us.
For like 5 minutes all we heard was “DON’T TOUCH ME”. Which would have been perfectly fine to say if you’re being touched. But when someone is giving you a good amount of personal space at a packed concert with NO seats, you shouldn’t really complain.
It was very clear homeboy was super drunk. Which, if I weren’t with my little sister and non-drinking age cousin, I’d be super drunk too. And then it started again “DON’T TOUCH ME!” … “THERE’S TOO MANY KIDS HERE”, “I HATE 13 YEAR OLDS” blah blah blah! Listen, it’s an all ages show! What the hell do you expect? A bunch of 25 year olds?
Security came down and told the obnoxious people that [security] was getting tons of complaints about them. If they kept trying to pick fights, they would be kicked out. Then more complaining started “waaaaaaaah, I wanna see Patrick Stump! I don’t want to get kicked out! I paid so much money to be here!”.
And like most people who are not trying to get kicked out of their favorite singer’s hometown concert, he starts trying to pick a fight with the guys behind us. Now, usually I’ll just sit back and watch a fight if I’m not in it, but when it’s so close that I have front row seats, and I get elbowed, I’m not going to be a happy camper.
It was stopped fairly quickly. But the guy just kept being a pain. And then he began to start another fight that almost got my sister elbowed in the head, so obviously, I had to step in.
“Dude, SERIOUSLY stop, no one is touching you, so STFU”
I don’t know if things kind of scared him because a girl was talking shit to him, or he realized he was being a douche, but he started to calm down “honey okay, we’re all trying to have a good time”
“Obviously you’re not since you’re complaining like a little bitch. If you didn’t want to be touched, don’t come to a concert, if you can’t tell there isn’t room to do yoga here.”
“okay, I’ll stop. We’re just all trying to have a good time”
“And if you’re going to be complaining about 17 year olds at a concert, maybe you shouldn’t come to an all ages show. Just a thought. AND I don’t know what you do for a living that $25 is A LOT OF MONEY…. Because seriously, it’s not”.
He stopped saying stuff in general for about 10 minutes. Out of nowhere, he wanted to start another fight with the guys behind us.
Right when one of the friends of the guy behind us stopped the fight, security came down and told the obnoxious guy and his friend (who wasn’t doing anything but try to calm her friend down) and told them “okay guys, it’s time to go”. While they begged to stay, everyone around us began to cheer.
Patrick Stump was coming on to the stage. I’m sure obnoxious guy was really pissed that he missed his favorite singer for being a drunk douchebag.

hahahaha, you put him in his place. I hate when people try to call me honey to make me back down. You did a great job holding your ground....and the yoga comment? Damn, this is making the list and hanging out next to dragon breath in the elevator. LOL
I hate people like that at concerts. They are sooo obnoxious. I don't mind 17 years olds with their like cool siblings at concerts. For me its the 13 years olds with their obnoxious overbearing mothers that piss me off.
Also douchebags that have to videotape the whole performance so that their camera is in the way of my viewing pleasure. And I love Patrick Stump (I'm an emo girl)
Oh man, I'm so sorry you had to deal with that! Nothing worse than an obnoxious drunk. Glad he got out of there!
