I went to a group interview for an office assistant job I randomly found on Craigslist. After going through a group interview and a personal interview, I was invited back to go to a “working interview”. I think this was basically to scare potential employees about the heavily computerized calendar making that the job entails.
Umm, well, I wasn’t scared of the workload. My personal iCals are worse than the eleventy thousand Google Calendars this schools has.
Now I am on pins and needles. I am one of five people being considered for the position. While most things don’t scare me, this does. I would really enjoy sitting full time in front of a computer making calendars versus standing for 3 hours doing nothing and selling crap I don’t really care for.
That being said, I graduated on Wednesday and feel super overqualified to be a cashier. Which is why I’m praying to every possible god, and promising my first born to any deity that I get a job outside of retail, because I just can’t do it anymore.
Here’s hoping!

Good luck! I got my dream job through a temp agency - funny thing is I'm a Recruiting Coordinator and the video game company I work for brings people in for interviews that are 4 hours or longer.. I got the job without any interviewing at all. I hate interviewing at companies, especially the part after you've been there and have no idea what's going on.
good luck, friend! here's hoping you get your heart's desire! fingers crossed. :)
GOOD LUCK!! I'm sure that you will get the job and I completely relate to feeling overqualified in your job. It sucks, and retail is hell. I hope you get it!
When will you find out? I AM SO EXCITED FOR YOU. GOOD LUCK. Retail does suck. A lot.
