Bad Internet Connections

How is it possible for a school to have working wi-fi from 8 am to 3 pm without any problems. Yet the minute it his 4 it goes all haywire? It sucks to say the least. I guess you get what you pay for.

This gets me thinking about my internet at home, and how it is also less than pleasant. We recently switched from having a home number associated with our internet service provider, to having one associated with a cell phone account. Now, the only thing we have with said company is our internet service.

Now, I am an anomaly, at my house. Out of the computers being used, I am the only one that uses a Mac. So, our internet was working perfectly, then the day that our service was reset to reflect out change of home telephone service, it only allows me (the Mac user) to view certain sites. It doesn't really bother me too much, the only sites I regularly visit that I can't use are FaceBook, MySpace, YouTube. It does bother me however, on my daily quest of trying to find out how much I have left in my bank account.

It's not been about 2 months that I have to wait until my monthly statement to see if I owe my bank money. I think I have had a good track record of never going negative. Yes there are probably solutions to how I could fix that bad internet connection, but someone (the person at home who pays the internet) refuses to just call an Apple Genius to see what the problem could be. Not to mention, said person wants me to buy the new OS for Macs, I'm not sure I want to buy a new OS when X works perfectly.

If it weren't for mobile banking, I think I would be penniless. At least that is not really much of an issue, seeing as I'm not usually web surfing on social networking sites at home. It does bother me that I can't do that at school. But I guess you get what you pay for: free Wi-Fi = crappy service.
